ABOUT HWI The Hotel Week Indonesia Conference
The 'Hotel Week Indonesia', a three-day exhibition and conference taking place at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta on Nov. 23-25, 2017, seeks to connect players in the hospitality industry throughout the Southeast Asian region and Indonesia in particular.
We serve as a platform offering interaction and insight, sharing knowledge for those involved in hospitality-related businesses: hotel operators, placements, design, operating equipment and supplies, building systems, technology and security, bathrooms and kitchens, food services, outdoor pools, spas and resorts, facility management, cleaning and laundry - a full array of hotel services, up to sophisticated ones like valet parking and front desk digital technology.
Our event showcases exciting new trends in the industry, offering unique business opportunities to Exhibitors from various hospitality-related backgrounds.Representatives from agencies, hotel associations and ministries of the Government of Indonesia, as well as major hotel associations in the country, will take an active stance in this event through a number of panel discussions.
In 2016, the Indonesian government came to a momentous decision: to prioritize both the domestic tourism and hospitality industries, committed to showcase 10 new tourist destinations across the achipelago, beyond Bali. They selected Lake Toba, Belitung Island, Tanjung Lesung, Kepulauan Seribu (Thousand Islands), Borobudur Temple, Mount Bromo, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, Wakatobi National Park and Morotai.
The government has further set a target of 20 million international tourist arrivals by 2019, a development expected to stimulate sector growth.In preparation for this monumental leap, The Hotel Week Indonesia offers professional support to hospitality industry players in Indonesia, in the quest to meet potential clients and secure vital services for various aspects of their business, from operations to technology.
Connecting the Hospitality Industry to an Internet Age
The Hotel Week events are held in conjunction with the annual Indonesia Internet Expo and Summit, sponsored by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association, or APJII. This session, supported by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, seeks to connect the Internet industry with the hospitality industry in various aspects of services.Hotels nowadays have expanded the use of the internet in various aspects of their services, from maintaining a consumer database, booking of hotel rooms, and smart room systems, to facilitate a variety of services for guests.
APJII, which has 380 ISP providers as members, will invite members to present their products and services allowing for efficient and effective use of the internet in the industry.One trend is the increasing use of cloud services for hotel systems as well as databases. Meanwhile, innovative services like internet protocol television (IPTV), which allow interactive multimedia services for guests in their rooms, is also drawing much interest.We expect atendees involved in the hospitality industry - from hotel owners, investors, professionals to providers of various services in the hotel industry - to share their knowledge and expertise, apart from showcasing their products and services. We hope we can make a meaningful advance in the hospitality industry for this archipelago nation, rich in natural resources, beautiful tourism and cultural destinations.
